Just started. I let the garbage out and decided the air was so minty fresh that I went for a 20 minute walk around the neighborhood. Didn’t know it would elevate my mood so much. Gonna have a coffee and jump on teams.

I mean its the typical Project Aces bonkers and kinda unconnected story, but the flight dynamics are great! And I enjoyed the mission variety and weather effects (wind, sand, frost, etc.) And the soundtrack is top notch Project Aces stuff.
I’d maybe just screw around at Easy or Normal if you want to get into the grove before going after hard and Ace. (Still trying to finish the Ace run.) The DLC missions are pretty good too.

Awesome! I’ve been taking lunch walks here which is nice. It’s now summer though so morning walks is probably a better idea.
I’m on an all day skype call right now, fixing issues in our testing lab today to prepare for upgrade testing next week.

I have to teach one lesson with a student who plays well but is basically comatose in her lesson. It’s a challenge. And that’s my whole day. Just got back from a 10 mile ride, but the rest of the day will be spent trying not to die of boredom.

Good luck on both the student and not dying of boredom. On a related note, do you know anyone that gives beginner accordion lessons online in this current crazy world ? I took a couple lessons a few years ago but the person I was taking them with moved and I tried a few times on my own and can’t get very far and it seems like this might be a good use of downtime for me .

That is an amazing comic - I don’t think I’ve ever thought of an accordion player as attractive though. I didn’t figure you would know someone since you are a fancy orchestra player but figured I’d check.
I’ve always loved the accordion and I grew up in St Louis which is (used to be) a very G erman town. I have very fond memories of Octoberfest growing up with old men playing polkas and it’s just an awesome instrument. There are pictures of me as a young boy dressed up in laderhosen and everything at my mother’s house. My loving wife bought me a fairly nice one a couple years ago but I just hadn’t given it the attention it deserved.

I think that comic comes from a whole comic book about learning to play the accordion. I know I’ve seen more of it.
Fancy? Nah, music is music. I don’t believe in instrumental class warfare. TBH, even though I play classical music for a living (not much these days, though), I never listen to it in my free time. I’m much more into classic rock, folk, bluegrass, and crossover stuff.

Played a lot of AC4 and AC5 on PS2. Dogfighting using an F117 Nighthawk with damn near infinite air to air missiles was always entertaining lol. I actually found AC4 more realistic since you at least had value in heading back to the ship/airfield to rearm. Considering you were still carrying 60+ missiles that realism is a bit lost but I digress.
I forget the name of the mission but I recall in AC4 my favorite was one where you start out on the water with an enemy navy and then circle around a harbor taking out the entire fucking city. Some real chuck norris/jack bauer shit right there haha. But anyways, that one played with a guns only on the hardest difficulty in a shitty plane is one of my favorite challenges to put myself through. AAA fire is a bitch.

Ace Combat 7 has a Guns Only (any difficulty) achievement/skin unlock. The two best aircraft for that were the A-10 (obviously) and the MiG-21bis with the available 20mm gun pods as a Special Weapon. Was a lot of fun except for a few of the boss dogfights. (Of course, I was a dumb and did it on hard.)

I just found out about Sierra Hull, an extraordinary mandolin player and singer. Her latest album is the sort of crossover stuff I really like. This whole album is great.

When (and if) they ever get EMALS sorted , I’m going to miss seeing all the steam on the flight deck. It makes it all look so much more epic.
